NO WAY - Concept Art

Don't know if you can call this 'concept art' but it is as close to concept art as i can come up with. I plan to do more on the house for this personal blog if i have the time. If not, it goes in the group blog. You have to click to see it a bit bigger.

NO WAY - Scenes

Thought it would be cool to have the characters interacting in a scene from the story. Kai's manga catches fire at some point, that would totally freak him out.

AMY - Design/Sketch

Finally got to draw Amy. She is a bit of tomboy despite the dress. Considering she's a games tester, i bet she hangs about with guys all the time... you need to be tough for that kind of job!

Random Ideas

I have on my desk one of this wooden mannequins....

... and you might think they help you drawing. Well, that's totally not true! They are really stiff and the joints don't move well... actually, they don't move, it's awful! I kept looking at it, poundering on it's pointlessness then felt quite sorry for it. So i thought it would be cool to do a 3D animation of the poor wooden mannequin trying to free itself from the pole it's stuck on. Considering it can't even touch its wooden feet on it, how would it free itself?!

Then... i found this on youtube and thought they were pretty funny.

OTHER MODULES - story idea

This is one of the ideas i had for my final stop motion this semester. I just knew i wanted to do something about a robot that comes to life but wasn't sure how to make it funny, then when talking to a friend she gave the ending idea. It's nice sharing thoughts with someone, they always have an idea you haven't thought about that could fit to the story perfectly.

MAGNETIC LOVE

In a dark old junk depository, pieces of a robot are scattered on a corner. Outside, the rain falls with thunder and lightening that can only be seen through a window. Suddenly a lightening strikes the depository and everything shakes. The eyes of the robot switch on, his parts start to join together forming his body.

He blinks a few times and looks around. At the other side the room he sees an exit door and begin to move towards it. On the way, he grabs two metal buttons from a box that says ‘magnet studs’ and sticks them to himself. He stares at the door again and happily continue his journey.

Next to the door there is another robot that looks broken but as he gets closer he feels his buttons being pulled towards the robot. He tries to hold on to something but is faster and faster pulled to the other robot. The magnets stick to the other robot’s back.

Desperately he tries to free himself but fails. The other robot suddenly activates, his head turns slowly backwards and stare the other robot with heat-shaped eyes.

OTHER MODULES - Character Ideas

This semester I have 3 of 4 modules that require scripts, design, characters etc, so i keep coming up with more and more ideas. Last week i created a few characters for Creative Video 2... they weren't created for an animation, but still, they are pretty funny, so i'm adding them here.

• Lazzaro

Dino and Peppi’s boss. Lazzaro has been trying to quit smoking so to avoid cravings he patches himself away, but that doesn’t really work for him. He has a terrible eyesight, an even worse temper and if that wasn’t enough, he hates being made fool of.

• Dino

Has a passion for awful hairdos. He’s dedicated to his work but can’t stop gossiping. He can get into bad fights with his partner in crime, Peppi.

• Peppi

A very weird man, violent but calm at the same time. His sadist nature is well known in his gang, he always kills who he shouldn’t but his dedication and skills keep him in the job and alive.

• Ed

Just a very nice guy who doesn’t mind cleaning blood from his kitchen floor. He’s rational and logic and always have a way out of a bad situation.

• JediZorg

Ringleader of the geek-hacker gang. Obsessed about Star Wars, Star Trek and any sci-fi films and series he can find. Also likes watching porn, but never had the chance, or the courage, to see a naked woman in person before.

I suppose they do seem a bit weird without the script! :)

This is based on that sheet we got with some ideas for stories. I quite like the idea of the agent and the martial art person. Decided to draw a samurai then.
